Green Sapphire

From medieval times 'till the end from the 1800s green sapphire was known as “oriental peridot”. Many sapphires that appear green actually contain very fine alternating bands of blue and yellow sapphire, which can be visible within microscope.
Green sapphires are present in Thailand, Sri Lanka, and Australia (Queensland and Nsw).
